"I get by with a little help from my friends..."

5.22.14

For the last few weeks, I have been very focused on my friendships. I consider myself extremely blessed to have so many people to care about and that care about me.

One of the many New Year's Resolutions that I made back in January was to make more of an effort in my friendships. (P.S. I am going to do a post in a week or two to re-evaluate my resolutions halfway through the year and look at my progress!)

In my opinion, there is nothing more cathartic than a genuine conversation with my sister, my best friends, a DG sister, or my mom.  Every time I call up a friend, send a "checking in" text, or get a cup of coffee with a sister, I think to myself "I gotta do this more often!"

There is nothing that makes me laugh harder than an entire emoji convo with my best friends. And there is nothing that brings me more joy than going out for a long lunch with my DG little, Rachel.

They have been nothing short of supportive and excited on my behalf for all of the life-changing decisions I have made in the last few weeks. That love and support is what makes me sure that I can do it and do it well.

A few weeks ago, I was honored to be asked to be Lizzie's bridesmaid next summer. Words cannot express how happy it makes me that Emma and I will be standing next to her on the most special day of her life.

The group text we had going (with all of the bridesmaids) made me laugh so hard during the trying day I was having. No matter how stressed I am about work or my future plans, group texts with my best friends always make me laugh.

My friends mean the world to me and I am so lucky to have them in my life. Friendship really is a beautiful thing.
